Many of the seminars offered today focus primarily on the tools of project managemet: Earned value analysis, Work Breakdown Structures, and Critical Path Scheduling. The problem with this approach is that tools alone will never assure success in managing your projects. We also teach tools, but our primary focus is on helping you actually apply management skills so that the people using the tools will be successful.
We think that is an important distinction between the Lewis Institute and all of the other providers of training. To accomplish this objective, we employ only experienced project managers as instructors. This is based on our conviction that you can’t teach skills that you have never performed! You don’t want textbook answers in a seminar. You want a response based on in-the-trenches experience. That’s what we provide.
