Ken Whitaker
Ken Whitaker, of Leading Software Maniacs (LSM), has over 25 years of software development leadership and training experience in a variety of technology roles and software-related industries. Notable companies that he has held senior manager roles include Data General (in the “Soul of the New Machine” days), Software Publishing (remember Harvard Graphics?), USDATA (startup that went public), and Solucient (now part of Thomson). He has presented management and technology training classes at numerous industry events including SD Expo, SQE, STC, "Bug-Free" Software Success seminars, PMI events, and many other conferences throughout the US, Canada, and Europe. His major emphasis is on balancing people, process, and planning in order to release quality projects on time, every time.
Always a customer advocate, his experience has been primarily taking organizations that need focus and helping turn them into quality, on-time producers.
Ken is an active PMI® member, Project Management Professional (PMP)® certified, and a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM). Sources for LSM’s presentations come from case studies, personal leadership experience, PMI’s Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide), and Ken’s two books: “Managing Software Maniacs” and “Principles of Software Development Leadership”. He has a degree from James Madison University in both Mathematics and Fine Arts and attended graduate school at Virginia Polytechnic and State University (VPI&SU). |
